The Greens Want in on The TV Debate

Published by thenerd at 11:01 am under Election, Federal Edit This

This time around we may have a fifth member in on the televised debates. That is, of course, if the Green Party folks have their way. I guess it would only be fitting, since they now have a sitting member.

Traditionally it has been the Conservatives, Liberals, NDP, and Block who have take part in this event but the Greens now feel they are prominent enough to be part of it. Personally, I think it would be a good idea. As they say in the corporate world “Competition is good”.

I am not a member or supporter of the Green party but I must say that having another party involved in the debate could make things very interesting. For the past few years it’s been the same old stuff time and time again. I think the Greens would bring in a different perspective and make the other four parties work to earn their votes. Not that I think the Greens have any chance of doing much damage.

I am quite surprised how strong the Greens feel about this. They have mentioned they are willing to take this to the courts if they are not allowed to attend the debate. It appears that they really mean business this time around.

I would like to see two or three other parties allowed in the presidential and vice presidential debates. I don’t understand why they aren’t. Don’t the American people deserve to hear all sides?

Not too sound like I don’t appreciate your comments but I’m not sure that you realize that this is a Canadian blog and I am not talking about about the American system.
